Yet, as I kept playing, I found myself getting better at recognizing the discrepancies that may pop up. Some are obvious, like when they appear female but their passport says that they are male. However, it’s easy to miss that issuing city section of the passport, which requires you to look in your guide for the correct nation (nations are color-coded and have their own seal) and the issuing cities listed there. It seems weird to have someone checking documents when you have something that can instantly tell whether you made the right call. There’s a LOT to take in at first, so don’t be frustrated on your first time through. It would be nice if instead of instantly penalizing you for mistakes, they have a summary at the end of the day that shows which ones you got right/wrong and penalizing you accordingly.

possibly making room for achievements, a warm feeling/other effects at the end of each day, or a Good End+ ending in the full game.Īh didn't notice that. Some reward you (and not just the guy trying to bribe his way in) with what appear to be collectibles. Early on, the 'warnings' are just to cover for new players later on, they let you choose to let someone through who should be rejected, based on their documents, with no penalty. Played through a few times now, intentionally letting certain people through. May have needed to compare the verbal record against the rule book, if asking for the passport didn't work. Aztotzka citizens just don't need an entry ticket/permit/work permit. I can't find the youtube of it right now though.įirst rule (basic rules) is that everyone needs a passport. Upcoming feature (release version) is a box you can unlock with a key to draw a tranq gun and a regular gun to shoot people going over the wall. I loved the idea of checking the news for names and portraits, actually managed to detain a criminal that showed up by investigating the newspaper and his face. It helped a lot to have a screenshot of the entire rulebook on my 2nd monitor since memorizing fake countries, cities and districts correctly was just a nightmare. Luckily it saves each day so I just had to restart a bit back. Asking for passport didn't work because Astotzka citizens only need a valid ID. The only gamebreaking bug I got so far was when I got nothing but a plastic ID card I couldn't stamp. I imagine the dev will add some kind of mechanic where suicide bombers will jump over the wall if not detained correctly.

I agree with this, since detaining takes significantly more time It's always better to just reject them on the spot instead. Accept/Reject = Standard, but correctly Detaining = Double). It'd also be nice if different actions generated different values of money (e.g.

There was one person who I was sure was female until a search detected that he had clearly 'dude' body parts. However, if we had the search function available at all times, you could easily pornoscan them and figure out their sex immediately. For sex, I found comparing the M/F line with the person's face to cause you to ask them if they were male or female. After seeing the numbered bars in the background and the kg in the bottom right, it seemed obvious that it would be an effective way to check for forgeries/fakes. Ironically, I picked up on the checking sex, DOB, height, and weight more quickly than the no-document checking mechanism. There is already a trade-off between time spent getting it correct and getting the largest number of people through the checkpoint, so it seems silly to also have to also have to run through hoops to get the proper actions to show up. I've rather have the options (interrogate, fingerprint, search, detain) available at all times and just get docked if I improperly interrogate/fingerprint/search/detain someone. Yeah, I figured it out by looking at the even more blurry/pixelated picture in the rule book, but it just seemed a very unintuitive approach in general. some of the portraits are very ambiguous until you learn who is meant to be male/female, and which names are masculine/feminine. It's there in front of you, but you never really think to check it (as they're the only ones who have it) until you start getting pay-docked. like that Aztotzkan citizens' ID cards contain a DOB, height and weight that also need to match. More annoying is the stuff they DON'T mention. I just leave it set at the 'basic rules' most of the time, unless a seal is wrong, or to check the issuing-city if I don't recognize it as a valid one. Really the more annoying bit is that you have to sort through the rulebook quickly, much of the time, even if you know what's wrong. Click the rule in the book, click the nationality on the passport. The 'scan' ability is an extension of this.

To be fair, it did show you how to ask for missing documents on the second or third day in the 'letter' (click on the rule in the book, click on the desk in front of them).
